Things have been pretty rough in the Tekken community since the release of Tekken 8, and it only got worse when Season 2 dropped. While Tekken has too much momentum to get dethroned as the main 3D fighter on the market, the situation was perfect for competition to pop up, and shockingly enough, it popped up in the indie space.
Many people who tried R.U.S.H. (Rival. Ultimate. Steel. Hand.) described it as something akin to 3D version of Footsies. While the latter has boiled down Street Fighter to its absolute basics, R.U.S.H. is doing something similar for Tekken.
It's a game that removes a lot of complexity in favor of the fundamentals and the thrilling mindgame that exists within movement and poking.
However, what people enjoyed was still an early prototype, an alpha version in essence, to get closer to what R.U.S.H. can be, it's heading for Kickstarter.
