Queen Arrow Joins the Red Bull Family
The Kenyan Tekken player made history as she joined the Red Bull gaming family.

Sylvia QueenArrowGathoni has made history as the first Kenyan esports athlete to be sponsored by Red Bull Gaming. She revealed this on her Twitter, where she posted a video in which 'Drift King' Ahmad Daham presented both Sylvia and Kenya rally racer Karan Patel with Red Bull branded face caps and beverages. This was to indicate that they were now members of the Red Bull team.

QueenArrow is also sponsored by UYU and is a professional gamer and streamer for them. Her inclusion in the Red Bull team follows a trend for Red Bull gaming in which they support the FGC by taking on some of the top esports practitioners. Within the Tekken space, Red Bull sponsors Anakin, Cuddlecore, and Arslan Ash, and she will join them as a Red Bull athlete.

Red Bull also sponsors Big Bird and Angry Bird for Street Fighter V, and the former was on hand to respond to her tweet with his congratulations.

As the first African esports professional to be sponsored by Red Bull, it does look really good for the continent, which is becoming more and more recognized within the international esports space. It will be interesting to see what this means for other African esports stars.
