A 40‑minute showcase hosted by Yūki Kaji puts the spotlight on remakes, horror, cozy sims, and racing from studios across Japan and Asia.

Sony’s November 11 State of Play had a distinctly regional focus, presenting an approximately 40-minute broadcast dedicated to games developed in Japan and across Asia. Hosted by voice actor Yūki Kaji, the stream showcased a varied lineup, from well-loved remakes to indie titles, providing global audiences with a closer look at upcoming releases. The show opened with a new trailer for Dragon Quest VII: Reimagined, set for release on February 5, 2026. Also highlighted was inKONBINI: One Store, Many Stories, a slice-of-life simulation set in a convenience store, scheduled for April 2026. In a more reflective tone, Coffee Talk Tokyo is returning on March 5, 2026, featuring characters including supernatural beings from Japanese folklore.

The horror genre received strong representation. BrokenLore is expanding with two entries: Unfollow (January 16, 2026), which explores the darker side of social media, and Ascend (Summer 2026), a vertical survival horror set on a haunting climb up Tokyo Tower. Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly is also getting a full remake, featuring an updated camera system, filters, and visual enhancements scheduled to launch on March 12, 2026. Additionally, the broadcast showcased a variety of other projects: a new Gran Turismo 7 Power Pack DLC with endurance racing, a tactical hero shooter Fate Trigger, the time-manipulating puzzle-action game MotionRec, a Wuxia-style RPG called Wandering Sword, and more.
