PlayStation has released its latest download charts, revealing the most downloaded games on the platform across major regions.
2XKO, Riot Games’ new tag fighter and its first major entry into the fighting game community, has been under heavy scrutiny since launch. While the game has generated excitement, it has also faced criticism for a number of early issues. These include screen tearing on console, a relatively small roster for a tag-based fighter, and a perception among some fans that Riot is attempting to fast-track its acceptance in the FGC through financial backing rather than organic growth.
Despite these concerns, the download numbers tell a compelling story.
Although PlayStation does not publish raw figures, 2XKO ranked as the third most downloaded game in the US and Canada, trailing only Fortnite and Roblox. That places it ahead of established titles such as Rocket League, Marvel Rivals, and Where Winds Meet. In the EU region, 2XKO also performed strongly, finishing as the 10th most downloaded game overall.
Beyond downloads, Riot has taken visible steps to position 2XKO as a serious competitive title. The publisher has already announced a global competitive circuit, alongside a dedicated 2XKO Japan Series aimed at growing the game’s presence in one of the world’s most important fighting game markets. The worldwide circuit is already underway, with its first Challenger event taking place at Frosty Faustings.
While 2XKO’s early days have not been without turbulence, its performance on the PlayStation charts suggests significant player interest. As a free-to-play, live service title, the game has time to address its technical issues, expand its roster, and continue building trust within the FGC.
If Riot can translate strong download momentum into long-term competitive engagement, 2XKO could still establish itself as a meaningful presence in the fighting game landscape.
