This weekend saw the conclusion of Capcom Pro Tour 2020's first event after switching to an online structure due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Split into multiple events spread across a handful of regions, last weekend's tournament focused on Eastern Europe and the Middle East. This includes countries like Bulgaria, Latvia, Czech Republic, Romania, Sweden, Russia, Estonia, Ukraine, Iran, Oman, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Palestine.
The event attracted many of the top players from the region, like Amjad "AngryBird" Alshalabi, Adel "Big Bird" Anouche, Niko “Shady” Hirvonen, and Arman "Phenom" Hanjani. So when they made it into the top 16, it came as no surprise. However try as they might, no one could take down Phenom who had a clean sweep to the number one spot using Karin. Hot on his heels were both NASR eSports players, Angrybird and Big Bird.

105 players participated in the tournament, which began on June 13 with pools and then the Top 16 later in the evening. Sunday was reserved for the Top 8 and Phenom's flashy finish.
The next event in the series is Capcom Pro Tour Online 2020 North America East 1, which takes place from June 20th-22nd 2020.
