Option to Hide Specific Games is Coming to Steam
You can even buy games privately

In the newest Steam Client Beta patch, a few long-awaited features have been added. Firstly, there are some updates on the shopping experience. New gifting options will allow you to buy presents for multiple friends at the same time, as well as send them messages to go along easier.

The shopping cart itself will have the option to continue shopping, it will also be shared across all devices. More importantly, you’ll be able to purchase games privately now.

In continuation of the privacy theme, you’ll also be able to set specific games to private, including ownership, in-game status, playtime, and activity.

It’s unclear when the beta patch will be released on the live environment, but anyone can opt into the beta client already.
