Nuckledu, Kakeru & Kilzyou Join Gamers8 SF6 Tourney as Groups Revealed
The tournament is now set to commence and all the players are locked in

The Gamers8 Street Fighter 6 invitational has revealed its group stages and the players who will partake in each group.

Less than a week ago, they announced 30 players who had been invited to Saudi Arabia to partake in the tournament, which has an eye-watering prize pool of $1,000,000 with the last place taking home a cool five grand for their efforts. They were able to convince the top talents within fighting games, including Evo Winner, AngryBird, Capcom Cup champion, MenaRD, and legendary fighter, Daigo

There will be eight groups, with four players in each group. The format will be a double round-robin within the group, with two players qualifying from each group. All the 16 qualifiers will then start the Top 16 bracket on Winners' side and then run a double elimination gauntlet to the end.

For the group stages, all matches will be first-to-two, while from Top 16 onward, it will be first-to-three.

Of the 30 players invited, iDom will be missing out. He has been replaced by Evo Top 6 player Kakeru. Meanwhile, the final two slots have been taken up by former Capcom Cup champion, Nuckledu, and French prodigy, Kilzyou

There are quite a few Japanese players, but some notable names are missing, including Tokido, Fuudo, Bonchan, and Kawano. The reason for this seems to be their obligation to Street Fighter League Japan which Daigo missed out on this season, meaning he is available. SFL Japan runs for most of the competitive season meaning that a lot of Japanese players aren't available for travel to other tournaments.

With the groupings, we have some really spicy encounters to look forward to, and it'll be interesting to see how it all shakes out.

Street Fighter 6's Gamers8 tournament will take place this week between the 10th and 13th of August. This means that most of the players are flying to Saudi Arabia directly from Las Vegas.

You can catch all the action on the Gamers8 Versus Twitch channel.
