Following the circulation of a Tekken 8 EULA across socials, Series director took the time clarify whether or not Tekken 8 would include Denuvo's DRM
Legendary Tekken series director Katsuhiro Harada took to X (formerly Twitter) to clarify the situation around Tekken 8's DRM protection. In it, he rejects any plans to use the controversial PC anti-tempering service but also calls for fans to calm down and, in other words, let him and his team cook.
The original post that prompted the response, which the author has since deleted, was a screenshot of Tekken 8's Steam EULA terms, which broadly speaking, specify the terms of use of software for consumers. In these terms, it is common to find specific articles around anti-piracy, anti-cheating, and other potential third-party software users must agree with to play the game.
As of the time of this publication, Article 24, which mentions Denuvo and its anti-tamper technology, is still in Tekken 8's Steam EULA, though Harada says this is simply because it is due to copying from other titles, which it has happened in the past and considering the size of Bandai Namco, was bound to happened at some point.
