Ask any fighting game fan and most of them will tell you that nothing quite beats in-person competition at a local tournament with the community of people you know and like.

However, joining the scene is not always the smoothest process. While social media and websites like start.gg made it easier, you sort of have to know where to look, and smaller events are not great at putting themselves out there, for obvious reasons.

Thankfully, things only continue to improve, including the latest addition – FindMyFGC.

The website is incredibly simple. Enter the location relevant to you, select the range that you're comfortable with, and pick a game you want to compete in. This will provide you with a list of start.gg events that fit the requirements.

Naturally there's a caveat here that some communities do not utilize start.gg or any sort of website, but just getting into your local scene is always a good start. From there, you will inevitably meet new people, find new friends, and maybe discover other local events.
