New Video From Evo Shows off the Capcom Art Exhibition
Decades of history on full display.

Some time last year, we mentioned "The Great Capcom Exhibition" that was happening in Japan. Most people aren't in a position to travel and see it in person, but the exhibition truly lives up to its ambitious title, even if you just read what they offer.

It's an incredibly in-depth tour through the history of Capcom, showing off not only some of their more well-known art, but also things that were previously only seen by developers. Certain parts of it even go deeper into the development process of your favorite titles.

If you're even remotely interested in Capcom games, it's a massive shame to miss out on such an event, but fortunately, Evo prepared a surprisingly thorough and remarkable video that shows off what Capcom had to offer. All while Kaho Shibuya and Takayuki Nakayama comment on the exhibits.

For example, Nakayama shares a very interesting but little known detail that the kanji on Ryu's belt didn't originate in the games. They first appeared in the specific piece of Street Fighter 2 art, where M. Bison looms over Ryu.

Shockingly, this might also be the first official source for what "M" in M. Bison actually stands for, as Nakayama refers to him as "Mighty Bison" when commenting on that same piece of SF2 art, which originated M. Bison's blank white eyes.

They also got some interesting details for the real nerds, as the exhibition has a stand dedicated to showing how game development structure at Capcom has changed between new and old titles.

The whole video is genuinely fascinating, and at 13 minutes, you will likely come out of it learning something new.
