New Project From BlazBlue Creator is Underway
Toshimichi Mori seeks to go against the industry downfalls.

When Toshimichi Mori left Arc System Works, fans of BlazBlue were devastated in much the same way as SoulCalibur's when hearing the news of the series producer, Motohiro Okubo, leaving Project Soul.

With the last major BB title being a disappointing TAG entry and only a roguelite platformer to follow it up, it really dashed all hopes for a proper sequel. However, perhaps the producer's next title will provide something for the old fans.

In an interview with Automaton-Media, Mori talked about some of the details about the upcoming project. Unfortunately, nothing awfully specific about the game yet, outside of the art that establishes a pretty futuristic look.

The core of the interview is more so about the new studio, Studio Flare, and their approach to making games. Mori stated that he doesn't want to make a game just to please a specific audience, instead, he wants to make something that he finds fun, and then show it to others, offering them to enjoy it as well. This is usually how some of the most unique and passionate projects are born, so the desire to make something this personal is definitely promising.

The young studio also isn't afraid to get into some creative conflict, as long as there is no malice and hostility, arguments are just a way to examine specific points and then potentially arrive at something better.

I encourage you to get read the whole thing by following the link above because Mori has some interesting things to say about game development. And remember, even though it is a project from a BlazBlue legends, don't be surprised if after spending so many years on fighting games, this new game turns out to be something entirely different.
