A must have for streamers and content creators?
Quite a niche piece of news today, but I hope you find it interesting nonetheless.
Thanks to the efforts from Pangaea and Krackatoa, Guilty Gear Xrd is not compatible with SAMMI.
What is SAMMI, you ask? Well, it's quite a robust and versatile streaming assistant, which makes it tough to describe in more specific terms.
On the most basic level, you can sort of treat it like a much fancier stream deck, people usually use those to automate basic things by setting up buttons that act as either hot keys, or initiate more complex commands.
SAMMI goes above and beyond that by allowing you to program buttons and do anything you could think of, or automate certain things based on various events or triggers, especially when we're talking about software that supports more intricate integration.
Ok, but what does it mean for Xrd? Glad you asked, I was curious about that myself, and fortunately, Krackatoa lists some examples in his primer (check that out in the tweet below) that even fools like me can understand.
So, let's take a look at some of the examples, shall we?
- Automatically @everyone on your Discord whenever you get IK’d.
- Shake your stream violently whenever you get counterhit by a level 4 move.
- Have OBS play a sad sound whenever you get hit by Potemkin Buster.
- Esportsy mid-match data collection like that one time ArcSys did it for a JP exhibition and then they never did it again what was up with that?
- Ban someone in twitch chat whenever you lose.
- Change OBS scenes when health gets low.
- Thrown Burst Detection.
- Actual Functional Gamblecore Mode
- Save a log of every blocked Volcanic Viper in a database for safekeeping.
- Custom combo display.
- Raid omitojohnny whenever you get hit by Johnny Zweihander.
- Send gamestate data to entirely separate Windows applications.
- Play “One Winged Angel” whenever Faust throws Big Meteor.
- On Gold IK Activatation, do the Eric Andre We’ll Be Right Back meme.
And here's a little example of how it actually looks on the stream.
