New Indie Game Aims to Combine Fighting Games with Roguelites
Shot One Fighters is a new take on the subgenre of single player only fighting games.

Indie fighting game developers are on a roll lately, it's almost scary how many cool projects have been popping up lately. Today we want to bring to your attention another fresh take on fighting games from Shot One Fighters, a single-player roguelite fighting game.

The premise is fairly simple and will be familiar to anyone who played roguelites before. You pick a character, and then set out on a Slay The Spire style grid where you advance to next stage by choosing different paths through the nodes.

As you fight, you will be able to pick up and learn new moves for your character, acquire items to form your build. It's pretty much your standard roguelite in that regard, which is not a bad thing, because what sets it apart is forming all those elements around the fighting game foundation, with many unique enemies and some bosses.

What's also rather surprising and very much welcome, is that it does have ambition for storytelling, with some VN style conversations and full on animated cutscenes.

The game isn't out yet, but it's coming soon(tm), and if this sounds interesting to you, make sure to wishlist it on Steam.
