As expected, Melty Blood: Type Lumina received some more announcements after the conclusion of its official NA tournament. The new characters are surprising, to say the least.
First and foremost, we will see the return of Neco-Arc, a hilarious yet controversial character. Since she's primarily a "joke character" like Street Fighter's Dan or Tekken's Gon, she was never a viable character when it came to competition. Still, it would be a mistake to underestimate the agent of chaos that is Neco-Arc.
We'll have to wait and see how good she will be, but one thing is certain, her attacks are as comedic as ever.
The other character that was announced is Mash Kyrielight. She's one of the main characters in Type-Moon's mobile game, Fate/Grand Order. Melty Blood fans will immediately spot the resemblance with Risebyfe, as both characters carry around a massive shield.
You can expect both characters and their stages to come out this summer, and once again, the DLC will be completely free. We don't know how they manage to do this, but it's a pleasant surprise every time.
Outside of that, there's some exciting news about Type Lumina's story mode. With the next major update, it will receive an expansion, featuring several new scenarios and "enhanced direction," seemingly fleshing out the presentation during visual novel-style segments in the story mode.
If this interests you but you don't own the game, there will be a pretty sweet sale waiting for you, starting with August 4.
