New Developer's Backyard Teases New Details About GGST 2.0
The game will look a little different

Guilty Gear -STRIVE- has released some updates of the anticipated 2.0 version of the game which will come out in 2026. They did this through their Developer Backyard, a bulletin/newsletter which updates players on what to expect from the game in the near future.

Ken Miyauchi, a producer for the game, wrote to fans explaining that while he would be unable to reveal much of what will happen in version 2.0, he can at least give a little peek. This includes the promise for the addition of more characters than the ones teased in the Evo 2025 trailer. Season 4 of the game is at its end with the release of Lucy, a character from the anime, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners and the next patch will bring in even more characters.

Miyauchi also noted that the game will receive a balance update that will look to change the way the game plays. While Miyauchi assures that the changes won’t be too significant, he did assert that they will give the game something of a new look.

On top of that, Miyauchi promised that existing characters such as Sol, Nagiriyuki, and Leo will receive new moves that should make them a lot more fun and change the dynamic of the game a little.

GGST has been running for about 5 years with over 3 million players and a decent roster of characters over that period. It will be interesting to see the new heights that the game can reach starting with 2.0.
