Narrative Is The Heart of Competition
The story comes first

Fighting game tournaments are always some of the most important events for this genre. We rarely get to see new announcements at gaming expos, both for updates or new fighting games, so most of the time we just look forward to some high level competition and little else.

However, is it really just the competition that attracts our attention, do we really just watch dozens if not hundreds of hours of competitive fighting game just to watch how good people are? Of course not.

While it might be true for the most dedicated fans of the games, what most of us truly want to see is a story. Newcomers rising to the top, veterans defending their throne, or two people who really don't like each other settling it in the game.

Our latest video explores exactly this and goes into some examples of what elevates simple matches into parts of FGC history.
