Multiversus Coming Hot to Evo 2022 With 100k Prize Pot

Following a raft of announcements recently, It has now been announced that Multiversus, a new free-to-play fighting game scheduled to come out this year will be at Evo! Multiversus is a fighting game pitting all the characters from the Warner Bros. roster against one another in a 2v2 format. In the announcement made on Twitter, we learned that the Multiversus tournament will be sponsored by WB and that there is $100,000 for the winning team. The tournament will feature teams of two who will battle one another for the grand prize.

Multiversus follows closely after Nickolodeon All-Star Brawl and seems to have a similar idea, unfortunately, the latter which was much heralded has slowly faded into the background. Little is known about what the final product will look like, but we do have information on some of the members of the game's roster including Batman, Superman, Bugs Bunny, Tom & Jerry, etc. It'll be interesting to see how the free-for-all model works for them. Brawlhalla, another game that uses that model has done really well so far and can be considered a big fighting game by today's standards. 

Interested parties who want to participate in the Multiversus tournament will need to register for the Closed Alpha along with a partner. 

The announcement has already caused some buzz with popular Skullgirls pro, Dekillsage indicating that if joined by Sonicfox, he could participate in the tournament.

Registration for Evo begins on the 30th of May 2022.
