Joe Egami, popularly known as MOV, was crowned the Street Fighter III champion at the recently concluded CEO 2025 tournament.
The Japanese legend defeated FrankieBFG in the grand final to secure another major victory, adding to his impressive resume that already includes an EVO title in 2024.
MOV has long been a dominant force in Street Fighter III, with a reputation that stretches back to the game’s early competitive days. Ever since fully dedicating himself to the title, he has consistently delivered top-tier results. While he hasn’t found the same level of success in Street Fighter V and VI, MOV remains unmatched in Street Fighter III.
At CEO 2025, MOV took out Justin Wong, then defeated Arlieth, and finally bested FrankieBFG in the grand final using his signature Chun-Li.
Interestingly, FrankieBFG lost his very first match in Top 8, dropping to the losers bracket. From there, he mounted an impressive comeback, defeating Everdred, Justin Wong, and Arlieth to earn his place in the grand final. Though he ultimately couldn’t overcome MOV, Frankie’s performance was still highly commendable.
