Sub-Zero's Gameplay Basics
Best Buttons
- D1: Great poke, good range, and fast.
- D2: Fantastic anti-air option.
- D3: Good to hit opponents from afar that throw out highs.
- F1: Advancing Mid, good range as well. Can be followed up by the string F1,2.
- B2: Overhead with launch, however, pretty unsafe.
Best Strings
- S1,2: Good follow up on hit when up close.
- S2,1: Can be used to follow up on hit at longer ranges, but only 1F window.
- B3,4: Low, string use in conjunction with B2 to create mix-ups.
- S3,4: Can catch people trying to move from ranges
Specials
- BF2: Mid projectile (rare) and has projectile immunity, allowing it to destroy projectiles; the amplified version will destroy and continue.
- DF1: Good for trades.
- BF3: Kameo situational, but very solid tool to get up close; amplified version reverses sides and has armor.
- DF4: Freezes opponents in hitstun. In other situations, it slows down opponents, it auto-tracks.
- j.DB4: Easy hit-confirm into a full combo, it can be safe if blocked lower to the ground.
- DB1: No safe options here. You want to use to slow the pace of the match and condition opponents for throws and other followups.
