Ashrah in MK1 is a very cool character that has teleports, stance changes and long-range projectiles. To learn this complex character, you need a good teacher. That's why we asked DeAdLyxReBeL to teach us how to play as her properly.

Ashrah in MK1 is mainly a neutral character who controls the space between her and the opponent. She does this mainly with ner sword normals and specials. Additionally, she has quite good pressure and relies on 50/50 mixups.
D1: very nice range,and it’s 7 frames.
D3: also has some range on it, and just 1 frame slower than D1.
D4: her best poke. It’s +15 and can jail. It also low-profiles many mids.
S1: a typical 7-frame punish, confirmable into:
1, 2, 2: full string, first two hits are neutral on block.
S2: a high with a nice range, good for punishing whiffs. Hit your meterless confirms after this, as you can combo off of it. Additionally, it’s her best anti-air.
2, 2: a high into low string that tends to catch people off guard.
F2: a very long-range high, only -2 on block, and can catch people going backwards. Can anti-air.
F3: great overhead that can lead to a full combo.
B3: safely hit-confirmable into a knockdown.
F4: her best mid
F4, 2: best followup on her best mid.
D2: a really good anti-air.
DB1: switches her dark and light stances.
BF2: her teleport. Hold down to follow up with a slice. This move also has armor.
DF1: a projectile mid that’s plus on block. Do it from the medium range, and then dash up and hit them again.
In the Dark stance, it sends a wave on the floor. Hits the whole floor when amped.
DB2: use in sequence with your Kameos to catch your opponent out.
DB1: her combo starter when amped.
The important thing about her is the ability to switch stances. If you hit your opponent in the dark stance, it debuffs them for the extra damage when hit with light-stance moves.
Always be mindful of your range: you’re not playing a rushdown character. Fish for hits with your superior range, and don’t forget to utilize a dark stance to apply pressure under spacing.

Ashrah is really good at space control and pressure, decent 50/50 with good buttons. She struggles against some keep-away characters somewhat, like Reiko with Stryker. Overall, she’s towards the top of the roster power-wise.
