One of the biggest discussions happening around the FGC is where Evo stands as a tournament. Does winning Evo make someone the world champion, or is that Capcom Cup? Popular commentator, Damascus, put this out and it led to a huge discussion.

Two-time Capcom Cup winner, MenaRD stated that he believes that all the top tournaments makes one a world champion and there isn't a need for just one.

One of the interesting fallouts from this was an idea that perhaps with so many Evos happening around the world, there should be a definitive tournament which presents only one winner. In such a case, the winner of Evo, Evo Japan, the newly instituted Evo in Nice, and the one happening in Singapore, play matches to decide who the true champion is.

If such an idea was to fly, it would make for exciting viewing.
