Massive Insomniac Games Leak
Hackers open the floodgate on mountains of developer documents.

Not long ago, Insomniac Games has been hit with a ransomware attack, leading to almost 2TB of stolen data that hackers promptly started to leak and sell.

Virtually everything that could've leaked about their future games and plans is now completely out in the open. From release schedule and pricing, to actual gameplay and minute story details.

The human element of situations like this is often lost due to the disconnect between big AAA companies and your average players, but this is absolutely devastating news for the developers, and could lead to serious repercussions down the line.

Some of you might remember when the story for Mass Effect leaked and led to massive rewrites due to very negative reception, or that time when Splinter Cell: Conviction became a completely different game leading up to release.

In those cases, the leaks were much less significant in scale, it's virtually nothing compared to what is happening with Insomniac right now, so while this could go over smoothly (probably not), it could also lead to a blowout unlike any other.

We will not reveal any details from those leaks, but some of them also paint a picture of why we don't see too many licensed fighting games or guest characters from major western franchises. One of the documents shows what appears to be fairly hefty royalties that Marvel gets from the licensed game sales, something that would probably be pretty discouraging for Capcom, if they wanted to make another MvC title.

There are many speculations to be made for now, but new info keeps trickling out, so we'll just have to wait and see what happens with it.
