Marvel Vs Capcom 2 Evo Last Vegas 2025 Top 8 Recap
The 10th appearance of MvC2 at Evo was nothing short of incredible with a stacked top 8

Marvel vs Capcom 2 made its 10th appearance at Evo this year, a massive achievement for the title and even more so for the community that has continually shown up to compete everywhere and every time they can. With over 500 players registered, it is undoubtedly a stacked set of competitors, but it all comes down to the top 8.

Top 8 Upper Side

Khaos vs Peruchamp set the tempo for the top 8 with a quick and energetic series that was quickly tied 1-1 before Khaos booted his opponent over to the lower finals. On the other series, Servbot picked up a clean 2-0 victory over Clockw0rk to meet Khaos in the winner's finals.

The electric energy continued for the winner finals as Khaos and Servbot took to the stage to see which one would secure, at worst, a second-place finish. Khaos clutch factor showed up from minute one and helped him carry himself to a statement 3-0 clean sweep of Servbot.

Top 8 Lower Side

The opening lower bracket matches saw Combo Fiend punching his ticket to a match versus Clockw0rk on the back of a nearly flipped series against Gconceptz. Telly and Vigga were up next, and Vigga, with his Magneto, Storm, and Psylocke roster, dominantly took the series.

It was now up to Clockw0rk to put a stop to Combo Fiend as the second round of lowers got underway. But it all started with a rocky infinite that gave Combo Fiend the advantage, one that he would capitalize on for the second match in what became a clean 2-0 victory. Peruchamp and Vigga were up next to determine who would go home next. Neither player wanted to give up a win, resulting in a 1-1 tie series. At the apex of tension, luck would favor Vigga's Sentinel.

The last key match of the lower bracket prior to the finals was set to be Vigga versus Combo Fiend. Both had earned their place on the back of incredible lower bracket performances, but only one would advance to the lower finals to face Servbot. Vigga went for the win hard and fast, picking up the first match and then masterfully crafting Magneto's signature combo lock in the 2-0 win.

Finals

Vigga made his return to the lower finals stage and faced off against Servbot with an opening Storm, yet it was ServBot who put up the first and second score on the board, but Vigga would work through the challenge and complete the unlikely reverse sweep.

Khaos came into the match with the benefit of watching Vigga cut through the lower bracket all across the top 8 and made use of that information well, as he scored a victory for the first game of the Grand Finals. However, Vigga locked in for the game to tie the game. The back and forth kept up going into game five where Khaos finally picked up the last win he needed to secure his legacy as an Evo MvC2. Champion.
