Marvel Tokon Sells Fewer Than 3,000 Physical Copies in Japan
It's not looking good for the tag fighter in Japan

Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls had a decent debut week, selling almost 500,000 copies in its first week. However, its sales numbers were quite poor in Japan, where it has reportedly sold fewer than 3,000 physical copies, less than any other fighter released in Japan in recent times.

Marvel Tokon was released worldwide on August 6 and has been plagued by a lot of issues, including PC performance problems and the game's unavailability in several regions around the world.

The poor sales of the game in Japan have stoked fears that perhaps Tokon will go down the same path as 2XKO, which was killed and will disappear in the near future.

The failure of 2XKO has ignited fears that this renaissance period for fighting games might be nothing more than a false dawn, as it seems a lot of fighters have not hit the heights expected.
