During the Arc World Tour, outside of updates on their other projects, Arc System Works also showed off a new team for Mavel Tokon: Fighting Souls.

Much like the last time, outside of 3 existing characters, the team shows off 1 new fighter, this time Peni Parker, voiced by Risa Mei.

While we only get a brief peek at the character, I have to note that it does a better job of highlighting special traits than you usually see in fighting game trailers. It seems that outside of having a spider mech/tank, Peni's major gameplay feature is the use of different gadgets, with each having a unique purpose.

For example, we see a bomb that can collide with opponents or get bounced from Peni's attacks, and will explode after a short delay. There is a little car that pops out and acts as a low fireball. She also has a fairly unique purple ball that captures enemies that it hits, locking them in a stun for a short duration. And while we don't see it in action, one of the later shots shows a little turret that might act as another tricky projectile.

Just from this brief preview, Peni is shaping up to be one of the more interesting and potentially technical characters in the game.
