Marvel Tokon Reveals Fighting Avengers Featuring Hulk & Black Panther
Captain America and Iron Man return from the beta, but it is Shuri stepping into the Black Panther mantle that steals the headlines

Arc System Works' upcoming tag fighter Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls has revealed its latest team. The Fighting Avengers, featuring Captain America, Iron Man, Black Panther, and the Incredible Hulk, were unveiled during Evo Japan with a trailer that put all four characters on full display, showcasing their movesets and team interactions in action. A Wakanda stage was also confirmed alongside the reveal.

Captain America and Iron Man were already present in the game's beta, giving players an early sense of what to expect from the roster's more familiar faces. They will now be joined by two significant additions. Hulk brings the kind of raw, crowd-pleasing power that has made him one of Marvel's most enduring characters, and his presence in a fighting game roster always generates excitement. Black Panther, meanwhile, is perhaps the more surprising and interesting choice. The character is not T'Challa but Shuri, his younger sister, stepping into the mantle. It marks Shuri's debut in any fighting game and is entirely in keeping with Arc System Works' stated commitment to building a roster that goes beyond the obvious choices.

It was also confirmed that the game's villain will be the Champion of the Universe, a character defined by an obsession with strength and physical dominance. For a game built entirely around combat, it is a villain selection that makes complete thematic sense.

Marvel Tokon is set to release in August with a roster of 20 characters. With the Fighting Avengers now confirmed, a small number of characters remain to be revealed before launch day. Expect those announcements to come thick and fast as the release window approaches.
