Marvel Tokon Open Beta Exposed Many Issues With the PC Port
The game had its first PC beta just two weeks before release.

Who could've expected that when you don't properly test one of the few platforms your game comes out on, that platform is going to run into issues?

In 2025 and 2026, Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls had several beta periods, all exclusive to PlayStation 5, and it's anyone's guess if this is in any way related to the game being published by Sony.

While the latest beta was pretty short, it revealed that there are far more issues with the port than could be realistically fixed with just a little over a week until the game is out.

For starters, Sony clearly didn't want anybody breaking in, arguably to a very excessive degree.

These measures, combined with the PSN requirement to enable crossplay, could be tied to a variety of performance issues.

The game also doesn't properly uninstall itself after you're done with it.

However, while some of these issues are not directly tied to gameplay, people still reported other problems, like terrible netcode and barely functional PSN implementation.

Over on Twitter, the game's official account offered some trouble shooting steps to try and fix the game at least to some extent.

One of the most easily avoidable issues so far is enabling shader compilation, which was turned off by default and pretty much should never be off, especially in fighting games. Not compiling shaders in advance will inevitably lead to mid-game stutters that will have massive impact on netcode.

While there's still time until release, it doesn't seem like Marvel Tokon will come out in best possible shape on PC, so if that's your platform of choice, it's best to wait for the first wave of user reviews.
