Marvel Tokon continues putting out starter guides for its roster at a rather snappy pace, this one coming out merely two days after the starter guide for Spider-Man.

Compared to some other characters so far, Star-Lord is a bit of fresh face on the block. Which is a weird thing to say about a character from 1976, but most will probably agree that he only really rose to prominence after James Gunn's incredibly popular Guardians of the Galaxy movies.

His presence in video games was fairly scarce before 2014, mostly appearing as a side character in mobile games. However, once the movies took off, he got some proper representation, often in Guardians of the Galaxy games.

However, Marvel Tokon will mark his debut in a fighting game, unless we count Marvel Contest of Champions, which is one of those fighting games that hardly plays like one.

Much like the rest of the cast, Star-Lord gets some fun mobility options with his 8-way airdash and rocket boots hover similar to Iron Man.

In terms of gameplay he's also another hybrid character that combines some fairly tricky projectiles with fast and agile offensive specials. One of his most unique aspects is the variety of blaster shots that change effects depending on which ammo is currently loaded. It offers a bit of versatility, but also expands his combo.

This is further accentuated with his mines that can pull in opponents and stun them for a brief period. If you're looking for a speedy character that has a lot of depth to their offense, you might want to give him a try once the game comes out.
