Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls Character Guide for Loki
Showing him right after Hulk certainly feels like a choice.

The pace of character guides for Marvel Tokon is ramping up once again, this time featuring the Loki.

Loki is actually one of the older Marvel characters, debuting in 1949, when Marvel was celebrating its 10 year anniversary. However, it wasn't until 60s that we'd see the version that resembles the modern idea of Loki, which presents him as both brother and nemesis of Thor.

Despite such a long history, he was never a particularly great choice for video game adaptations, so his appearances only start to really crop up after Tom Hiddleston's portrayal of the character in 2011's Thor movie.

Technically the character appeared in a fighting game before, but it was the mobile fighter that barely resembles the genre, so it's pretty much Loki's debut when it comes to proper fighting games.

Arc System Works has already shown their capacity for making weird magic users, and of course this is no exception. Loki has several unique abilities. The first one is a multifaceted projectile that can be placed in the air, on the ground, or sent out as a regular fireball. It can get destroyed by enemy attacks, but if the enemy gets hit, they will get frozen and get launched for a potential combo.

Other two uniques are even more interesting however. The first one is Illusion, and the second is Misdirection. What they represent, is Loki's ability to alter his special moves by holding L or M button, turning them into feints or potential counter attacks, with real Loki reappearing with an attack of his own after the fake version of him gets struck.

His special attacks are relatively normal by comparison, with a leap into a projectile, a rising projectile that then shoots off more projectiles toward the ground, and approaching special with cross-up potential. However, with all this potential to augment the special's properties, he's looking like a very tricky character to both play and fight against.
