21st century stance based man.
Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is getting ever closer to completing the character guide series for everyone on the roster. It seems like Green Goblin might be a bit of a late addition, to reflect him getting added to the open beta pool.
The character itself is probably the most iconic Spider-Man villain, and one of the oldest too, premiering just a few years after the hero himself.
Despite his overwhelming popularity, especially after the Raimi movies, he never really had too much presence in gaming, at least not as a playable character. In that sense, Marvel Tokon is treading new ground, or at least a path few have threaded before.
To little surprise, Green Goblin is going to be one of the more tricky characters in the game. Instead of just having a unique movement option or a simple gimmick like other characters, he borderline gets a whole second moveset with his glider stance, which can be used both for mobility and offense.
The rest of his kit is heavy on the projectiles, making him a rather complicated zoner. Instead of traditional fireballs, he throws out razor bats that can fly around in relatively complicated patterns. He also has an assortment of pumpkin bombs, with 4 different types that all do something different. Sticky bomb slows your opponent down to a crawl, explosive bomb will launch them, poison will deal AoE tick damage, and stun bomb will deal a decent chunk of damage.
This is all complemented with his glider attacks. Green Goblin can call in the glider almost like it's another assist. It can simply ram into opponents, it can hit them (and the Goblin) on its way back, or it can rain down a stream of bullets. All of this can also be done in conjunction with his other glider options too.
His only conventional special is a short range lunge attack with a potential for the wall break.
Needless to say, if you like characters that can swarm people with projectiles, this might be the one.
