Capping off the character guides on a strong note.
Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is coming out in just a few hours, so before that happens, they released the guides for remaining two characters, Deadpool and Carnage. Funnily enough, the two don't just share a somewhat similar color scheme, but also first appearance dates.
While Deadpool came out in 1991, Carnage made his debut in 1992. Originally he was meant to be a darker take on Venom, but the creators didn't want to replace Brock as Venom or mess with the symbiote's carefully established characterization, so the Carnage and Cletus Kasady were born.
Since then, he became quite popular thanks to a striking design and over the top violent theme that makes for a cool villain.
In Marvel Tokon, Carnage is shaping up to be an extremely aggressive character, with a main gimmick revolving around Necrosis state. After infecting opponent with one of his specials, you will deal more damage on hit or block with H attacks, and any further attacks will refill the Necrosis gauge while inaction will allow it to deplete.
The main feature of this state, however, is an additional tendril attack on pretty much all of Carnage's specials, which can also activate a Necrosis Bomb follow-up for extra damage.
For once, we got a character with no projectiles, but instead Carnage gets long range attacks akin to Dhalsim. Aside from the one you use to infect opponents, you get a long range spike that can pull opponents towards you. At that range he gets access to a slow but armored axe slam, mutli-hitting special attack, and a sort of AoE tendril attack that also serves as his anti-air.
