Magik has all the tools for a great character: mobility, range, damage
The Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls beta has ended, and the general consensus around the game has been positive.
What has also come to the fore is the popularity of certain characters over others. The beta featured 15 of the 20 characters that will be available at launch. Players also had access to six stages, training mode, lobbies, and more.
According to data provided by AllietteFaye, who tracks character usage across several fighting games, Magik was the most popular character among Vibranium+ players throughout the beta.
She was followed by Blade, who was only revealed recently and is a character fans had hoped would appear in a Marvel fighting game for years. Magneto and Spider-Man rounded out the top four most popular characters at the highest ranks. Top players such as SonicFox have said they will probably use Spider-Man, while Diaphone spent most of the beta playing Blade.
Blade did top one chart, however: the assist usage rankings, making him one of the most commonly selected assist characters. His versatility, long reach, and more traditional fighting style have made him a popular choice. Danger and Peni Parker were the least-used characters, with Peni's slower movement and unorthodox fighting style perhaps contributing to her lower popularity.
Fans were generally happy with the beta. However, there were some complaints about the game's performance on PC.
Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is set to release on August 6, 2026, and is already in contention for inclusion at some of the biggest fighting game tournaments of the year.
