Legendary Japanese Arcade Is Closing Its Doors
The arcade scene takes yet another depressing blow.

The arcades worldwide have been on a bit of decline ever since the rise of personal computers and home consoles. However, nothing did as much damage as the pandemic lockdowns.

Following those events, one arcade after another began to close down, no longer scraping by enough revenue to stay afloat. Sadly, A-cho arcade will now be joining their ranks.

This arcade from Kyoto is especially remarkable for the FGC. Many memorable tournaments took place under its roof, and no matter fighting game you like, it would be there, down to having different versions of the same game. Not to mention the many old cabs that were maintained and kept in top-notch condition.

It's absolutely heart-breaking to hear the end of next month will also mark the end of A-cho.

If you haven't already, I recommend you check out their YouTube channel, much as the arcade itself, their channel has been a treasure trove for any fan of fighting game competition.
