Krossplay is Koming to Mortal Kombat Legacy Kollection.
Mortal Kombat enjoyers unite.

Over half a year has passed since the release of the Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection, and a lot of things have changed since. Initially it had a very rocky release, with plenty of bugs, emulation issues, and outright missing features that are expected from a modern fighting game anthology.

To Digital Eclipse's credit, they have been hard at work since, and never stopped updating the game to make sure it's in the best state possible. The critical bugs have been addressed, lobbies have been added, and games are emulated properly.

However, the latest update is adding another incredibly important component that really should've been there from the start – the ability to play with people from other platforms. As popular as MK is, the older classics are still niche at this point, so you obviously don't want to splinter the playerbase and making finding matches even harder.

That said, adding crossplay is no easy feat, so it's nice that it's finally getting added to the game regardless. There are no caveats here either. All platforms (PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, PC) can enjoy playing with all other platforms. Though you will also get an option to disable that, if you want to for some reason.

Another nice things coming with this update are 2-vs-2 online battles for games that support, which was only possible offline until now.

Fans of more accurate emulation will also get an option to enable Variable Refresh Rate or VRR. When enabled, the game can match the framerate to odd values that were present in the arcade, which are slower than the usual 60fps, but might be more appealing to those who are nostalgic for that very specific feel.
