King Of Fighters XV Introduces Exciting New Mechanic

As players wait for Season 3 of The King of Fighters XV, SNK have announced that they will be introducing a new mechanic to the game— Advance Strike. 

They made the announcement on social media explaining that there will be a patch for the game on the 30th of January 2024 where the new mechanic will be introduced and able to be used immediately. 

Accompanying the announcement was a video guide as to how the mechanic will work. Advance Strike is a move that is different from the Shatter Strike and is mostly to be used as a counter against throws and some command grabs. The move crumples the opponent on hit which allows you to go on the offense. It also grants the user great positional potential as while you can't land any follow-up, you do get great oki advantage. 

It is also + on block meaning you can keep up the pressure even if the opponent is blocking and you can mix in a Guard Crush to break the opponent's defence and hit them. Advance Strike also has a guard point which enables you block some hits even those with some invincibility properties. 

However, the opponent can use the Emergency Evasion technique to escape the pressure and land a counter of their own. Also, if it whiffs, it has slow recovery, leaving you open to a world of pain. 

The move allows you to really go on the offensive and can be deadly with the opponent in the corner.
