Japanese agency Yen Planning reported that actor and voice actor Kenichi Morozumi passed away at the age of 67 on September 1, 2022. The cause of death was ischemic heart failure.

Born in Yamanashi prefecture, Morozumi was best known to fighting game fans as the voice actor for Sergei Dragunov in Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection, where the character made his debut 17 years ago. In the subsequent Tekken 6 and Tekken 7, he kept this role.

Kenichi Morozumi has also voiced characters in GantzBlack LagoonSoul EaterSamurai Champloo, and Terra Formars.

It is not known if Morozumi had time to take part in the development of Tekken 8 since Bandai Namco has yet to confirm the presence of Dragunov in the roster of fighters.
