Justin Wong and Daigo Umehara are two of the most famous names in FGC history and it could be argued that they were both immortalized by the same moment. Evo moment 37 did something for the FGC that is difficult to put into words, and it brought a large wave of players and fans into the community.

The two rivals who have become good friends were recognized for their contribution to the FGC and received the inaugural away for impact at Evo 2024. It was also announced that 2025 will feature the Evo awards which is different from the Cannon Awards.

Daigo and Justin shared the stage as they were awarded with their plaques before Justin went back to commentary duties for Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike.
