Joey Fury about Anna Williams: "Her design degrades the game"
Steam
We have a hot take!

Joseph "Joey Fury" Bennett, the Tekken World Tour Global Finals participant, expressed his opinion on Anna Williams, and it is not a complimentary one.

In the initial tweet on X (ex-Twitter), Joey Fury said that "her design degrades the game. Insanely easy to play, forces absurd 50/50s, carries harder than any other character."

Some time later, Joey Fury decided to clarify his position since he "was misinterpreted in a lot of ways". He wrote:

"Anna is nowhere close to being the strongest character. And there are characters that have way better tools than her (Yes Marduk). When I say “braindead” I must emphasize the “easy to use” statement. An experienced Tekken player can learn the Anna basics and execute her gameplan and combos in a matter of days. Doing that with Akuma (who is WAY stronger) for instance will take weeks/months. She’s “braindead” b/c she easily allows for “run up + yolo dice roll” gameplay. If someone is mega try-harding, she isn’t going to feel great b/c she’s not good at winning reliably. But she makes the playstyle of high-roll gambling easily available. That’s what I was getting at. Lastly, yes, the high-roll gambling playstyle can be argued to have its own learning curve, it’s own appeal, and it’s own skill-set involved. If it’s in the game and it works for you, use it. Play to win, don’t play to make friends! Ggs to all!"

What do you think about Anna? Will you miss her in Tekken 8?
