Jebailey Comments on the State of CEOtaku in 2026
Don't get your hopes up.

Every game in the FGC typically has their one big event. Giants like Street Fighter and Tekken obviously have whole circuits, but even smaller titles have signature events that a big chunk of the community will try to show up for.

For many smaller anime titles, CEOtaku was exactly that. A proper event at a major venue, dedicated entirely to somewhat underappreciated anime titles. Since its first iteration in 2015, it was one of the biggest spotlights for this side of fighting games.

However, in 2025 the event ran into financial issues after the Wyndham Resort venue was closed. Running CEOtaku alongside CEO simply became too draining, and trying to run it at the same venue as CEO resulted in scheduling problems. As such, it was announced that there will be no CEOtaku in 2025.

A year later, and Jebailey is back with another update on the state of the event, though it will sound very similar to what we heard in 2025.

Long story short, it's still not financially viable to run the event as a separate entity, and it's not clear when the opportunity for it will present itself.

Jebailey still very much looks towards the opportunity to bring it back at some point, but for now, the blow is softened by the fact that CEO is an all-encompassing event that will host tournaments for a lot of the anime fighters. So you were holding out on CEO in favor of waiting for CEOtaku, you're better off attending the main event.
