Customizable platform fighting game Freymakers is back with a new character. In the year 2026, the Early Access title is expanding its roster with... Imposter. From Among Us.
This honestly wouldn't be out of place as an April Fools announcement, but Freymakers is a kind of game where it does make sense. It's a wild project that thrives on the fact that you can make pretty much whatever you want.
Even the default roster is chock-full of indie darlings, with characters from Bit.Trip Runner, Octodad, I Wanna Be The Guy, Machinarium, Slay the Spire, and so many others. It's sort of an "All-Stars" type of deal for indie platform fighters.
The Imposter itself has a shockingly in-depth kit that goes above in beyond in trying to implement visual and mechanical elements of a social deduction game as actual attacks and mechanics this character.
For example, one of the more unique things about the Imposter is that you'll have to manage your suspicion if you want to use Crewmate related attacks. Even the negative consequence essentially "ejects" you up into the air if you fail to keep the suspicion in check.
Other than that, you of course has a lot of other references here, like the venting, kill animation, voting process, tasks, etc. Even the soundtrack does a good job of remixing the familiar theme in a way that feels fresh.
As a cherry on top, this isn't a DLC or anything of the sort, just another free character that will be available to anyone who bought the relatively cheap base game.
