Hori Reveals The New Hori Fighting Commander Octa Pro
Hori is upgrading one of its dedicated fighting game focused gamepads.

Hori has recently announced a new gamepad on their YouTube channel. Joining in on the trend of pro controllers, their fairly well known Fighting Commander Octa gamepad, which is geared towards fighting games, isgoing to get an upgrade.

For starters, one of the defining characteristics for this gamepad was the presence of 6 face buttons, primarily accommodating Street Fighter players and anyone who is into Capcom's classic 6 button fighting games. However, it's also fairly useful to have for anime fighters like Guilty Gear and a few others, since they tend to be a bit more reliant on various shortcuts and button combinations.

The Pro version in particular is offering the new programmable paddles, which have proven themselves to be an immensely useful and versatile addition to the typical controller layout, as well as 3 different dpad options, which should hopefully cover all sorts of preferences. As part of the full PS4 and PS5 support, it features a very similar touchpad in the middle of the controller.

An additional boon for fighting game players is going to be the octogate stick. It's still not quite a match for the actual arcade stick, but having a gate is a decent game-changer when it comes to getting a feel for your inputs.

The controller will release on March 27, and is currently up for pre-order on Amazon.
