Harada Responds to the Fans Begging for New Bloody Roar
You gotta let them know that you have a passion.

After the recent news of Konami gaining full ownership of Bloody Roar, the fans are going wild with speculations.

The excitement is very understandable, it's a beloved series that hasn't been around for over two decades now. What's less understandable, is why someone would bother to message Harada over this.

The original series was developed by Hudson Soft and published by Konami, while Harada at that time was at Namco and now moved to VS Studio under SNK.

Nevertheless, after seeing messages of people begging for a sequel, he decided to chime in with half explanation of how sequels get greenlit, and half advice on how to try and push the needle if you want to see a new game in the series.

He starts off outlining many bussiness concerns of making a new game that should be obvious to most people. Making a fighting game is a major investment when we're talking about these bigger AAA and even AA projects, so the timing has to be right, there needs to be market for this game, the people in charge need to know what people want, and on top of that, it usually takes strong and passionate (or at least very business savvy) lead.

Harada mentioned that this is why Dead or Alive is now coming back, with its producer, Yosuke Hayashi, often asking Harada for advice about the current state of 3D fighting games. And of course this goes for Virtua Fighter too.

According to Harada, instead of any sort of online petitions, if you want to see sequels for your favorite fighting games, you better off trying to contact the company directly and letting them know how much you'd love to see a new game.

Just keep in mind that there are other human beings on the other end, and approach them accordingly, in a kind and understanding manner.
