Good 8 Squad Launches Tekken Division
The Street Fighter League champions are adding a Tekken player to the ranks

Matsuba is a Tekken 8 player of some repute in Japan, and it has been announced that he will be joining Good 8 Squad and will represent them at the Esports World Cup and other events related to Tekken 8.

The player was unveiled and there was a video done with an interview with him where he outlined his reasons for joining and what he hopes to add to the team.

Matsuba noted that G8S are better known in the area of Street Fighter 6, having won two Street Fighter League world championships in the last four years, and that they are well-placed to do well at the EWC, and having a representative in Tekken 8 with a high placing will only increase their prize earnings. So, having him sign on is a strategic move.

He also mentioned that he hopes to do well at EWC and garner enough points to also partake in the Tekken World Tour finals.

Following the announcement of his signing, Matsuba also responded on social media, stating that he is leaving a career of professional photography to try and make it in the gaming industry.

He said, "I have recently joined the Tekken division of Good 8 Squad! I am honored to be part of the team that is the best in the world at Street Fighter. I had been wondering for a long time whether to become a full-time photographer, but I have finally made up my mind.

"I will do my best to liven up the industry, so please support me!"

The drafting of Matsuba into the G8S also makes him their first Tekken player, meaning they are now involved in the Tekken scene. With the logic that they have put forth, it will not be surprising to see them sign someone for Fatal Fury: City Of The Wolves, which is also a fighting game that will be featured at the EWC.
