The club seems to shut down its esports program.
Golden Guardians, an esports club owned by the NBA team Golden State Warriors, is shutting down their Melee division effective immediately. In their official statement on X (ex-Twitter), the organization stated that this decision was made "due to changes in their involvement in esports".
Among the people signed by Golden Guardians were aMSa, n0ne, Toph, YungWaff, and PPMD. The latter mentioned that "as of today, Golden Guardians esports is no more." Although we've yet to receive an official confirmation, such an outcome would be unsurprising. Last week, Golden Guardians was one of the two teams that left the NA LCS, the League of Legends franchise league. After that, it seems like shutting down the entire esports program is only a matter of time and today, another and possibly final step was made to quit esports.
