The character has been pushed back to March
Guilty Gear -STRIVE- fans were hit with a blow as it was revealed that the highly anticipated character, Venom, will now be released at the end of March rather than the early part of 2025 as fans had hoped.
Arc System Works made the announcement via their website with Guilty Gear -STRIVE- producer, Ken Miyauchi, releasing a statement.
"Today, we would like to share an update regarding the release timing for the new character, Venom. While the release was initially planned for early 2025, in order to provide the character at the best quality possible, we have changed plans for the release to after ARC WORLD TOUR Finals 2024, scheduled for March 21 to 23, 2025."
Miyauchi explained that the delay is due to the desire to release a fully fleshed-out character and some of the work going on for the network and training mode.
He added, "We expect these features to require additional time. We will provide additional news on the schedule for these updates once more details are available. Thank you for your continued patience.
"The development team will continue endeavoring to make sure the game meets everyone’s expectations."
Fans are naturally displeased with the decision, but it is better for the character to be released in its best state than for a rushed product making the fanbase even more unhappy.
It is believed that this delay will not affect the release of Unika and Lucy who are slated for Spring and Summer 2025 respectively.
