GGST Developers Reveal What's New In Latest Developer Backyard Update
The regular release update keeps fans up-to-date about Guilty Gear -STRIVE- news, this is the latest one

The 11th Developer's Backyard update for Guilty Gear -STRIVE- just dropped earlier today. In this issue, the game's developers, Akira Katano, Daisuke Ishiwatari, and Ken Miyauchi, gave updates on the big (and small) changes coming to GGST in the near future.

During Evo 2022, there was a Guilty Gear panel where some big announcements were made, including the addition of a new character, Bridget. Also, there were announcements for crossplay, new costumes, and fixes regarding connectivity. We got some morsels of information regarding all of these things.

Bridget

First on the agenda was Bridget. The new character was introduced and has proved very popular already. However, a lot of questions persisted about Bridget's gender, which the development team confirmed is female. They explained their thinking behind this, which has a lot to do with Bridget's upbringing and values. They also answered the questions regarding Bridget's preferred mode of identification.

Sales

There was also an update regarding sales which the developers were happy to talk about. Recently, Guilty Gear -STRIVE-  hit an amazing milestone, selling over one million units. While this might not seem like a big deal, it is positively huge for Arc System Works as they admitted that this is the biggest units sales for any Guilty Gear game and is also currently Arc System's highest-selling title. This is a remarkable achievement which just shows the amazing work the team has put in to make the game great.

Colors

Another update of note was the team's interest in trying out new colors and costumes for characters. According to the developers, the colors currently being tried out are inspired by esports. For instance, Street Fighter V has some really amazing uniforms for characters that are based on their Street Fighter League teams (at least the Japanese teams.) We even got a bit of an example, although it was noted that this is subject to change and that the final results might vary.

Other Updates

The team also confirmed that the Season 2 roadmap revealed at Evo is still on track; however, they did note that the crossplay beta tests initially scheduled for mid-September have been postponed for a bit and will now most likely be in late September to Early-October. There was also a showcase of the music video featuring Sol Badguy and his theme song 'Find your one way,' which is available on YouTube and other streaming platforms.

There was also some stuff about character popularity, and it seems that for most regions, Baiken is the preferred character. Meanwhile, in the category of most requested DLC, it does seem to lean towards Slayer. It will be interesting to see if this comes to pass; however, it is this writer's opinion that we'll be seeing Slayer sooner rather than later.

You can check out the blog for yourself here. We do look forward to what else GGST has in store for us, and you can remain confident that we at DashFight will keep you abreast of it all.
