Gfinity Sells Its Esports Unit

Once known British esports tournament organizer, now looking to quit esports

The UK-based gaming and esports company Gfinity is selling its esports assets in order to concentrate on its media division. According to the Esports Advocate, the remaining assets of the "esports solutions division" will be sold to Ingenuity Loop Limited.

Gfinity decided to shift away from esports: the company closed Gfinity Arena in Fulham, and now its esports operations are being entirely shut down.

Gfinity was a well-known tournament organizer in the esports community. In 2017-2018, it hosted four seasons of Elite Series, a team Street Fighter V competition. It also hosted tournaments in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, StarCraft II, Rocket League and other esports games. Unfortunately, this is a significant loss for the esports world.
