GBVS: Rising — Balance and System Adjustments Revealed
Many details were highlighted on a stream

Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising has come through beta testing, and the community feedback helped the developers to decide what changes they want to bring to the final product. The release of this improved version is planned for November 30, but we had a chance to delve into the details around balance and system changes thanks to a special stream.

We at DashFight are quite excited about GBVS: Rising. Let’s summarize this long stream thanks to the slides from it.

  • The community says in the feedback that: throws are too weak, Raging Strikes are too strong, and Ultimate Skills are hard to use.
  • Skills with technical input deal 10% more damage.
  • Changes to Ultimate Skills are the following: 50% of the SBA Gauge to activate; they can be followed with an additional attack or chained into mid-combo; it’s possible to activate an Ultimate Skill during skill cooldown.
  • Light Dash Attacks advance farther for approaching foes. Heavy Dash Attacks are more rewarding and cause a screen effect on counter-hit.
  • Brave Counters cost 1BP to activate. You can do it by pressing two buttons (M+H).
  • Raging Chains cost 25% of the SBA Gauge to activate. The game has a gauge penalty.

The general concept of the battle system in Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising has been described as accessible for beginners, having similar gameplay to the original game with Dash Attacks and Ultimate Skills added. Intermediate and advanced players will be able to explore a new strategic layer with Raging Strike and Ultimate Skills.
