Gamer Mom Wins the Mortal Kombat Tournament With Baby in Her Arms
Competitive gaming must feel like a cakewalk compared to parenthood.

Some heartwarming news are coming from Juicy Monthly event in Florida, where a new mom won a Mortal Kombat XL tournament while holding her 5 days old daughter Cereza in her arms.

Legi0n and her husband, Argen, are both long time gamers and members of the fighting game community, but even knowing that, it's not often that you see family participation on such a level.

The story is incredible in its own right, to go through something as incredibly taxing as childbirth and then not only compete, but win a whole tournament just days later takes not only some remarkable skill, but concentration and willpower that even some seasoned pros should find inspirational.

But, this is also a touching moment on a personal level for this family. In this great article from Dexerto, Legi0n spoke with Virginia Glaze, sharing a few details about how incredibly difficult the childbirth process was, requiring a c-section and nearly taking her life in the process.

On Twitter, she also shared the circumstances around her previous pregnancy, which tragically ended in the loss of her older daughter Alcina due to a medical malpractice.

She also highlighted the role of her local FGC in Orlando, with Retro Revival organizing a baby shower for Alcina, and RR's co-founder, Katie Shiver, organizing the second baby shower for Cereza.

This sort of tightly-knit community, that uplifts each other when times get rough, and supports each other through life, is a great example of FGC at its best. We would like to also congratulate Legi0n and Argen, and thank you for being an inspiration for the rest of us.
