Swen Vincke, head and CEO of Larian Studios, revealed that even though Baldur’s Gate 3 came out on Xbox Series X|S during its triumphant rampage at the Game Awards 2023, it won’t be coming to Game Pass anytime soon. In an interview with IGN, he made the following statement:

We made a big game, so I think there's a fair price to be paid for that, and I think that that is okay. We don't charge you any micro-transactions on top of it, so you get what you pay for. Upfront it's a big meaty game. So I think that should be able to exist as it is. This is what allows us to continue making other games.

Xbox Game Pass holds quite a lot of value, it even has several fighting games like Guilty Gear -Strive-, Dragon Ball FighterZ, Mortal Kombat 11, and others. Having an award-winning title like Baldur’s Gate 3 there would have been a huge value gain for the program.
